ผู้ใช้งาน PS3 และ PS Vita พบปัญหา เล่นเกมเก่าที่ซื้อไว้ไม่ได้ ระบบแจ้งลิขสิทธิ์หมดอายุ

มีผู้ใช้งาน PlayStation 3 และ PlayStation Vita จำนวนมาก รายงานตรงกันว่า พบปัญหาไม่สามารถเข้าเล่นเกมบางเกมที่เคยซื้อไว้แบบดิจิทัลผ่าน PlayStation Store ได้ พร้อมข้อความที่ระบุว่า “ลิขสิทธิ์หมดอายุไปตั้งแต่วันที่ 31 ธันวาคม 1969 เวลา 19:20 น.” ซึ่งผ่านมานานกว่าครึ่งศตวรรษแล้ว ส่วนใหญ่เป็นเกมคลาสสิก เช่น Chrono Cross, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy VI และอื่น ๆ อีกหลายเกม

ปัญหานี้ ยิ่งชวนงุนงงขึ้นไปอีก เมื่อ Edmond Tran จากเว็บไซต์ GamesHub พบว่า เจ้าตัวสามารถเข้าเล่นเกม Chrono Cross บน PS Vita ได้ตามปกติ แต่ถ้าไปค้นหาบน PS Store จะไม่เจอ ตรงกันข้ามอย่างสิ้นเชิงกับบน PS3 ที่เกมเดียวกันนี้ยังมีให้ดาวน์โหลดอยู่บน PS Store แต่ถึงอย่างนั้น พอดาวน์โหลดมากลับเล่นไม่ได้อยู่ดี

กรณีที่เลวร้ายที่สุด ถูกรายงานโดยสมาชิก Reddit รายหนึ่งที่อ้างว่า ไม่ใช่แค่ 1 หรือ 2 เกม แต่เกมในคลัง “ทั้งหมด” ไม่สามารถเข้าเล่นได้เลยแม้แต่เกมเดียว

จนถึงขณะนี้ยังไม่มีคำชี้แจงใด ๆ จากทาง Sony รวมถึงรายงานเรื่องการแก้ไข โดย Kotaku ตั้งข้อสังเกตว่า สาเหตุอาจเกิดจากบั๊กอะไรสักอย่างในแบ็กเอนด์ของซอฟต์แวร์ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับเวลา Unix หรือที่เรียกว่า Epoch เพราะวันที่และเวลาในระบบนี้เริ่มต้นที่ 1 มกราคม 1970 เป็นต้นไปนั่นเอง

เหตุการณ์นี้ทำให้เกิดประเด็นถกเถียงกันในหมู่ชาวเกม ว่าสุดท้ายแล้วการซื้อเกมแบบแผ่นหรือตลับที่เป็นสิ่งของที่จับต้องได้จริง ๆ จะปลอดภัยกว่าไหมในระยะยาว ถึงแม้การซื้อแกมแบบดิจิทัลจะสะดวกกว่าก็จริง แต่มีความเสี่ยงที่ในอนาคตจะเล่นไม่ได้อย่างในกรณีนี้ หรือกรณีอื่น ๆ เช่น เกมถูกผู้พัฒนาถอดออกไปจากสโตร์ หรือแพลตฟอร์มยุติการให้บริการ เป็นต้น

PS3 Emulator ก้าวหน้ามากขึ้น ล่าสุดสามารถเล่นเกม Uncharted ได้แล้ว

ทีมพัฒนา RPCS3 ผู้อยู่เบื้องหลังโปรแกรม Emulator จำลองเกมของ PlayStation 3 มาเล่นบนคอมพิวเตอร์ ได้ออกมาเปิดเผยความคืบหน้าล่าสุดของโครงการ ที่ตอนนี้สามารถเล่นเกม Uncharted ได้แล้ว และยังปรับปรุงเกม Ratchet & Clank, God of War, LittleBigPlanet และ Gran Turismo

เกมส่วนใหญ่ที่กล่าวมาตอนนี้สามารถเล่นผ่าน Emulator ได้แล้วในทางเทคนิค แต่ยังพบปัญหาอยู่บ้าง เช่น เฟรมเรทตกจนเหลือตัวเลขหลักเดียว ซึ่งทำให้เกมกระตุกแน่นอน การแสดงเงาของตัวละครหายไป และการเรนเดอร์พื้นผิววัตถุหรือตัวละครยังไม่สมบูรณ์ อย่างไรก็ตามโครงการ RPCS3 ยังอยู่ในระหว่างพัฒนา

เผยรายชื่อเกมฟรี ประจำเดือนพฤศจิกายนของ PlayStation Plus

เริ่มต้นเดือนใหม่แล้ว ก็ทำให้แฟนๆ PlayStation Plus หลายๆคนต่างเฝ้ารอและจับตามองเกมฟรีประจำเดือนพฤศจิกายนนี้ และล่าสุดทาง Sony ก็ได้ประกาศรายชื่อเกมที่สามารถโหลดมาเล่นกันฟรีๆสำหรับสมาชิก PlayStation Plus ในโซน 1 กันแล้ว โดยตัวเด่นๆเลยก็คือเกม Bound และตามด้วยเกมหนอนน้อยอย่าง Worms Battlegrounds ถือว่าเกมฟรีในเดือนนี้ก็เด่นไม่แพ้กับเมื่อเดือนที่แล้วเลยก็ว่าได้

หลังจากที่มอบความสุขแก่เหล่าเกมเมอร์สายคอนโซลมานานถึง 11 ปีบัดนี้ก็ถึงเวลาแล้วที่เราจะต้องโบกลือลาเจ้าเครื่องเล่น PlayStation 3 แล้วล่ะครับเพราะทาง Sony ได้ออกมาประกาศอย่างเป็นทางการแล้วว่าได้ยุติการผลิตในประเทศญี่ปุ่นเรียบร้อยแล้ว

การรูดม่านของเครื่อง PS3 ครั้งนี้ก็ไม่ใช่เรื่องที่น่าตกใจมากเพราะก่อนหน้านี้ประมาณปลายเดือนมีนาคมที่ผ่านมาทาง Sony ก็ได้พูดเปรย ๆ ว่าจะทำการยุติการผลิตเครื่องเล่นในเร็ว ๆ นี้จนกระทั่งล่าสุดพวกเขาก็ได้ประกาศยุติสายการผลิตเครื่องเล่นอย่างเป็นทางการเสียทีโดยรุ่นล่าสุดของ PS3 จะเป็นโมเดลที่มีความจุ 500 GB

Sony วางแผนเพิ่มเกม PlayStation 4 เข้าไปในคลังเกมออนไลน์ เพื่อให้สมาชิก PlayStation Now ได้เล่นเกมของ PlayStation 4 ในรูปแบบสตรีมมิ่ง นอกเหนือจากเกมของ PlayStation 3 ที่ปัจจุบันมีให้เล่นมากกว่า 480 เกม

Sony จะเริ่มทดสอบเกม PlayStation 4 ผ่านบริการ PlayStation Now ในอีก 2-3 สัปดาห์ข้างหน้า ซึ่งสมาชิกบางรายที่โชคดีจะได้รับเชิญให้ร่วมทดสอบด้วย ก่อนจะเปิดให้บริการอย่างเต็มรูปแบบในอนาคต

นับว่าเป็นอีกข่าวดีสำหรับชาว PC ที่อยากจะเล่นเกมของฝั่งเครื่องเล่น PlayStation บ้างเพราะล่าสุดตอนนี้ทาง Sony ได้ออกมาประกาศอย่างเป็นทางการแล้วว่าพวกเขาได้ปล่อยบริการตัวหนึ่งที่ชื่อว่า PlayStation Now ออกมาแล้วซึ่งเป็นบริการสตรีมมิ่งเกมจากเครื่องเล่น PlayStation 3 มาเล่นบนระบบปฏิบัติการ Windows หรือ PC ได้แล้วครับ

ก็อย่างที่เกริ่นไปว่ามันเป็นบริการที่เราสามารถเล่นเกมของเครื่อง PlayStation 3 (รวมเกม Exclusive ด้วย) บนเครื่อง PC ได้และนั่นก็หมายความว่าเกมดัง ๆ อย่าง Uncharted , God of War , Killzone หรือ inFamous ชาว PC ก็จะได้สัมผัสกันแล้วโดยบริการนี้จะเปิดในโซนยุโรปก่อนในอัตรา $20/เดือน (693 บาท) หรือ $45/สามเดือน (1,560 บาท) ครับ
